Individuals who have fine facial hair, sensitive skin, redness, or facial veins are ideal candidates for dermaplaning. Additionally, dermaplaning is safe for all skin types and tones. Most people are candidates for dermaplaning; however, it is recommended that you come in for a consultation to discuss your goals and expectations.

How It Works

Dermaplaning is a quick and easy in-office procedure that is performed in about 20 minutes. A specialized surgical blade is used to gently scrape away the very top layer of skin. This non-surgical treatment is wonderful for exfoliating the skin and reducing skin pigmentation, pore size, and wrinkles. Dermaplaning also helps to remove fine vellus hair (peach fuzz). Removing the dead skin cells and fine vellus hair prepares the skin for other aesthetic procedures, such as HydraFacial®s, DiamondGlow™ treatments, or chemical peels.

Recovery and Results

There is almost no downtime or discomfort with dermaplaning. The procedure is usually repeated once the vellus hair returns, which is about every four weeks. This treatment will not cause hair to grow back any darker or coarser.

Dermaplaning allows for better penetration of your own personal skincare regimen and creates a flawless canvas for makeup application. Your skin will look and feel smoother after a dermaplaning treatment. It is important that you follow a proper skincare routine, complete with SPF, to maintain your results. Most skin types can benefit from dermaplaning, but all clients will be evaluated at your initial appointment.

Facial skin will be cleansed and prepped with alcohol prior to treatment. A sterile blade will be used to remove the top layer of
dead skin and vellus hair (peach fuzz) from the entire face. This is usually regarded as a very relaxing treatment with absolutely
no pain whatsoever.

Dermaplaning can be a regular add-on to your monthly facial.

No! Contrary to the description or appearance of the treatment, it is actually very relaxing and enjoyable to most clients.
Results are immediate and satisfying!

No. The face may be slightly pink afterwards depending on level of sensitivity so makeup should not be applied that day.

Dermaplaning can be performed in conjunction with most skincare regimens but there may be certain products to avoid prior
to your treatment and depending on skin type. Your technician will be able to guide you accordingly.

How It Works

Forma™ is the only auto-adjusting, non-invasive, thermal radio frequency skin treatment. The device uses radio frequency technology to target the deep layers of your skin. The subdermal heating stimulates collagen and improves the skin’s elasticity, resulting in tightened skin and decreased wrinkles. This effective, no-downtime treatment will leave you with tighter skin that will make you look years younger!

Recovery and Results

There is no downtime associated with the Forma™ skin tightening treatment. Some patients may experience slight redness in the treatment area immediately after their procedure, but that should dissipate within a few hours.

To fully notice and experience results, it is recommended that patients undergo a series of treatments. After about eight sessions is when the skin tightening results become most noticeable. Results can last up to a few years with multiple treatments and yearly maintenance.

FAQs

Forma™ can be used on both the face and body where areas need contraction. Commonly treated areas include the face, neck, chest, arms, and knees.

Forma™/Forma™ Plus treatments are weekly sessions over the course of 6-8 weeks with maintenance sessions recommended quarterly or biannually.

The Forma™/Forma™ Plus is an essentially painless procedure with no downtime. Slight redness in the treatment area is common post-procedure, which subsides within a few hours.

Yes, the Forma™/Forma™Plus can be used in combination with most other laser treatments, facials, and injectables like BOTOX® Cosmetic and JUVÉDERM®.

Patients using Retin-A/Tretinoin, Retinols, glycolic acid, and/or AHA’s/BHA’s should discontinue use 48 hours prior to treatment if they are treating the face, neck and/or chest.

Patients treating the face and/or neck can resume use of their normal skin care regimen 24 hours after treatment.

Ideal Candidates

Ideal candidates for treatment with Sebacia are in good general health and are concerned about stubborn mild to moderate acne. You may be a good candidate if you identify with the following:

Procedure

First, your face will be cleansed to remove any trace of dirt, oil, or makeup, and the gold microparticles will be massaged into your pores. Any excess microparticle solution will be cleaned, and your skin will be cooled with ice packs or chilled air for your comfort. Then the laser will be passed over your skin to heat the gold particles. This action causes the sebaceous glands to reduce their production of oil.

Sebacia treatment is performed in a series of three sessions over 14 days. One treatment session takes approximately 30 minutes to complete.

Photodynamic Therapy & Blue Light Treatment

When Ameluz® Topical Solution is applied to Grade 1 or 2 sun spots, the solution is absorbed by the cells where it is converted to a chemical that makes the cells extremely sensitive to light. When the cells are exposed to the BLU-U®, this light causes reactions which destroy the AK cells.

The BLU-U is a unique blue light that can kill the P. acnes bacteria in your skin. If you’re looking for an alternative to medications or antibiotics to treat your acne, it may be just what you need. The BLU-U is not a laser. Lasers deliver light as coherent beams, while the BLU-U delivers incoherent light scattered over a larger area.

Blue Light Therapy | Sun Spots

Photodynamic Therapy using the BLU-U Blue Light Photodynamic Therapy Illuminator is an advanced 2-step treatment for minimally to moderately thick Grade 1 or 2 AKs (sun spots) of the face or scalp. This therapy is unique because it uses a light activated drug therapy to destroy AKs.

Actinic Keratoses (AKs) are rough-textured, dry, scaly patches on the skin caused by excessive exposure to ultraviolet (UV) light, such as sunlight. They are often referred to as “sun spots” and they occur most frequently on sun exposed areas such as the face, scalp, ears, neck, hands and arms.

Blue Light Therapy | Acne

Not exclusive to teenagers, many young adults have trouble with acne that is hard to control. The BLU-U Blue Light Therapy – using light without drugs or antibiotics – may be something to try if you’re looking for an alternative to medications or antibiotics.

What is Blue Light Therapy? The BLU-U is a unique blue light that can kill the P. acnes bacteria in your skin.

Treatments are simple – you sit with your face close to the light for a short time at a schedule set up by Dr. Lin, approximately a 16-minute session about once or twice per week. The treatments may go on for five weeks or so.

It’s safe, it’s not hot, it’s not painful. After some weeks, the blue light helps control your acne.

JUVÉDERM® products are made of a synthetic form of hyaluronic acid (HA), a sugar that is produced by your body. What can you expect?

Most patients describe Velashape as feeling like a warm deep tissue massage. You may experience a warm sensation up to a few hours after treatment. The treated area may appear pink for a few hours after treatment.

When it comes to body contouring, choosing the right treatment can be tricky. That’s why we offer a complimentary consultation to each of our patients. A highly trained provider will meet with you and discuss the problem areas. They will then choose a body contouring technique that suits your specific needs. VelaShape® uses vacuum technology to manipulate your skin while infrared light (IR) and bi-polar radio frequency (RF) energies gently heat fat cells and surrounding tissue. Over the course of your treatments, you will notice a reduction in both the circumference and appearance of cellulite in the treated areas.

Most patients describe VelaShape® treatments as comfortable and similar to the sensation of a warm deep tissue massage. Treatment sensation varies from patient to patient. VelaShape® treatments are designed to accommodate your individual level of sensitivity and comfort. Your skin may appear pink for a few hours post treatment. VelaShape® treatments are safe and effective for all skin types.

The VelaShape® treatment is safe and effective for all skin types and colors. However, the treatment area must be free of tattoos and piercings must be removed. There are no reported short-term or long-term negative side effects.

A series of 3-6 treatments are typically required to achieve optimal results. Treatment sessions are scheduled every other week until desired results are achieved. Maintenance sessions are recommended to maintain the results with a treatment session every 6-8 weeks or as needed.
