You may have heard that certain celebrities use KYBELLA® to reduce unwanted fat, but maybe you aren’t really sure what it is or how it works. The most popular use of KYBELLA® is to remove the submental fullness, or “double chin,” that you may experience because of genetics, weight gain, or the natural aging process. KYBELLA® is a formulation of a naturally occurring substance called deoxycholic acid, which is found in the body and helps to break down unwanted fat in the targeted areas.
The JUVÉDERM® family of fillers is made up of a synthetic form of hyaluronic acid (HA). HA increases your skin’s moisture and reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. When injected, it can also increase volume in the skin, making you appear fuller and firmer. JUVÉDERM® is non-surgical, quick, and produces long-lasting results; however, it is recommended that you continue sessions to keep up the appearance you desire.
Once the substance is injected into the targeted area to remove the fat, it is eliminated for good! However, depending on the patient and their individual goals, two or three treatment sessions may be necessary. KYBELLA® destroys the fat cells making them unable to accumulate or store any additional fat. It is recommended that you maintain a healthy diet and exercise routine to keep your desired shape and aesthetic goals.
Each KYBELLA® treatment session takes about 15 to 20 minutes to complete. You will be given ice and a topical anesthetic to alleviate any discomfort that you may experience. There is minimal downtime required with KYBELLA®, which will be discussed during your consultation with the Institute of Anti-Aging Medicine and Skin Spa.
Yes! KYBELLA® can be combined with other injectable fillers to achieve an aesthetic you desire. Whether it’s BOTOX® Cosmetic to improve crow’s feet and wrinkles or JUVÉDERM® to fill, smooth, and add volume to the face and hands, all of these enhancements are designed to build your confidence and improve your facial appearance.
